Amoxicillin

Uses

Amoxicillin is prescribed to treat infection caused by bacteria, such as tonsillitis, bronchitis, pneumonia, gonorrhoea, and infections of the ear, nose, throat, skin, or urinary tract.

Formulation – Amoxicillin is formulated using gelatin, magnesium stearate, and titanium dioxide and amoxicillin as the trihydrate.

Amoxicillin is a drug that belongs to the Aminopenicillins drug class, and it has been found useful in additional to its main prescribed use to treat Dental Abscess, Bacterial Infection, Chlamydia Infection and Urinary Tract Infection. Side Effects / Precautions

There are several different side effects that can be experienced when taking Amoxicillin and the most frequently experienced ones include allergic reactions like skin rash, itching or hives, swelling of the face, lips, or tongue, breathing problems, dark urine, redness, blistering, peeling or loosening of the skin, including inside the mouth.

Amoxicillin does have side effects as mentioned above, and if you experience any of the above side effects, you should consult a doctor or medical professional immediately. Alternatives

Metronidazole – One of the many different alternative drugs that you may be prescribed is this one, and it is a drug that has been found to be a good alternative should you be suffering from A Dental Abscess. Ciprofloxacin – If you are suffering any of the side effects that are listed above and you are suffering from a bacterial infection then you may be prescribed this drug. However, there are several others which have been found to be suitable alternatives and they include doxycycline, metronidazole, azithromycin, Augmentin, clindamycin.

Doxycycline, – Should you be suffering from a Chlamydia Infection and you are suffering any side effects then this drug is one alternative you could or may be prescribed. Should you be found to be intolerable then you will find there are several other alternatives available including azithromycin, Levaquin, levofloxacin, Zithromax, erythromycin.

Ciprofloxacin – If you are suffering any of the side effects that are listed above and you are suffering from a Urinary Tract Infection then you may be prescribed this drug. However, there are several others which have been found to be suitable alternatives and they include doxycycline, Augmentin, Levaquin, Bactrim.
