Formulation – Alprazolam is formulated using alprazolam, cellulose, corn starch, docusate sodium, lactose, magnesium stearate, silicon dioxide and sodium benzoate.

Alprazolam is a drug that belongs to the Benzodiazepines drug class, and it has been found useful in additional to its main prescribed use to treat Anxiety, Panic Disorder and Depression. Side Effects / Precautions

As with all medications there are side effect associated with taking Alprazolam, and below is an overview of the side effects associated with this drug.

The side effects that you may experience when taking Alprazolam include drowsiness, dizziness, insomnia, slurred speech, trouble concentrating, memory problems, poor balance or coordination, and irritability. Some other side effects include diarrhoea, sweating, headache, nausea, blurred vision, and appetite changes.

Alternatives

Xanax – One of the many different alternative drugs that you may be prescribed is this one, and it is a drug has been found to be a good alternative should you be suffering from anxiety. There are several other alternatives you could be prescribed by your doctor for that condition and they are Lexapro, Cymbalta, lorazepam, atenolol, Ativan, hydroxyzine, escitalopram.

Zoloft – If you are suffering any of the side effects that are listed above and you are suffering from a panic disorder then you may be prescribed this drug. However, there are several others which have been found to be suitable alternatives and they include sertraline, Prozac, clonazepam, lorazepam, fluoxetine, Ativan, Xanax.

Trazodone – Should you be suffering from depression and you are suffering any side effects then this drug is one alternative you could or may be prescribed. Should you be found to be intolerable then you will find there are several other alternatives available including citalopram, Zoloft, sertraline, Lexapro, Cymbalta, Celexa, Xanax.
